Greece is feeling more like home as time goes on. The daily rhythm is setting in and we continue to follow the Lord’s guidance in ministry. I am continuing to create discipleship videos for all English speakers who get involved with our hosts in Greece. At first when I was given this role I was a little unsure because I thought I wanted to be out in the street, and talking to a bunch of people. Now that we’ve settled in a bit, I am very thankful for the position that has been given to me. I don’t know how long I could maintain energy when constantly talking to people in the street. All that being said, we will continue to ask the Lord daily what he wants from us and we will walk in obedience.
Do we even know God? How much of God’s glory can we truly grasp? Our futile minds have no way of fully comprehending the Glory of God. Seeking after God is not just something we should do. It fully consumes someone's life when they are focused on simply chasing after God. What else can I do other than sit in the presence of my Savior.
To sit at His feet
Fully surrounded by love
Emptying myself
Not to be too wordy or too profound but when you come to a point of emptiness, and have nothing left, what will you do? Will you sit in your own misery, sulking in how bad life is? Or will you seek the face of your creator. 1 Peter 5:10, “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
This past week, I thought to myself, “I don’t think the Lord is teaching me anything right now.” I almost accepted the fact that the Lord just decided to take a break on teaching me new things and growing my faith. I felt a little empty, and not filled with the spirit like I felt in the days prior. (Just because I didn’t feel it didn't mean that he wasn't there). I wanted to continue to learn and chase after God but I didn’t feel the same. My routine did not change but a feeling had left. Monday night, after playing soccer with the locals, I went up on the roof of our apartment and began to journal about literally anything that came to mind. I felt as if the Lord stood there and just watched me tell him about my week. I felt heard, and I was heard. The Lord wanted to hear about my week and as I expressed my desires I realized that I was learning in the midst of everyday things. It is more than feeling, it’s something that just happens and all we have to do is look.
I am learning how the Lord knows my desires better than I know them myself - like putting me on the media team even when I thought I would do better in the streets.
I am learning that the Lord does not always need me to understand he can just work through me - like when the Gospel was not shared with words during soccer and all we did was play.
I am learning that the Lord has set me free from insecurity - even when I can still feel insecure.
I am learning that the Father delights in the obedience of His children - even when obedience looks crazy.
I am learning to sit at the feet of Jesus because he will give me rest.
The Lord is constantly teaching us, and shaping us to be more like Him when we seek after Him. It may not always be obvious or something super profound but it will always be good.
Psalm 23:4-6
Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
They comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
As my ministry continues, we will continue to seek after the Lord and His plan for us. I am excited to see the places that the Lord will lead my team around Thessaloniki. Also, I am still only 50% fundraised and would be so grateful for your partnership with me on this journey. In prayer for me and my squad, and financially.
Keep learning and seeking the face of the Father,
Blaze
